About:
Empowerment International (EI) addresses poverty by facilitating the education of children in at risk situations and impoverished nations. EI removes a part of the heavy financial burden of attending public schools by assisting with the purchase of the mandatory materials and uniforms. EI also works directly with each family facilitating a shift in the long term value of educating the children. Parents are required to become increasingly more active participants in their children's education thus become more invested over time. Children's progress is also tracked as well as attendance.

All children in the program (approximately 300 to date) have access to medical care in a collaborative effort with Clinica Alabama.
several of the girls in the program are offered scholarships for computer classes and English classes in a collaborative effort with APIMUNIC www.apimunic.org
Long term, it's the goal of Empowerment International to create a community driven project thus run completely by Nicaraguans.

EI is also planning to reproduce the program in other neighborhoods.

Also EI strongly believes in the power of collaborative efforts to maximize it's resources.
