Mongolian Girl
About half of the population of Mongolia lives a nomadic lifestyle without plumbing or electricity. Although many live at or below the poverty level, they never complain or beg for assistance - they are too proud of their culture, history, and nation. Most children are able to go to school, and most families are able to sustain themselves from the land and livestock. They want nothing more than to raise their children in the best possible environment, and work hard to live the best life they can.
Nepalese Woman
An old Nepalese woman in Kathmandu, Nepal. With no options to retire, any of the elderly in this part of the world are forced to work at a very old age in order to support themselves and their families.
Boy with Machete
This child lives in a small village without electricity near a major tourist attraction in Cambodia. His parents usually send him to sell snacks and souvenirs to tourists instead of attending school. I found him playing with his friends in a nearby pond. He was using the machete to cut and eat sugar cane.
Working Boy
This Hmong boy near Sapa, Vietnam, poses with one of his family's water buffalo. While some go to school, many of these children spend long hours working in the rice fields.
