I work with an organization in Austin using prevention-based programs and advocacy efforts to control the homeless pet population because not all animals end up in happy homes like this one.

This child may be fighting pediatric cancer, but at least he is doing it in the United States where his chances for survival are amongst the highest in the world. According to one study, the U.S., Japan, and France recorded the highest survival rates, but with 90% of world being made up of children living in developing countries, the third world is facing an unimaginable number of children being stricken by this disease. 80% of those children will die because they live in the developing countries where access to medical care is inadequate.
